On September 25, a guest lecture on the topic "Countering and Preventing Gender-Based Violence" took place at the Educational and Research Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies.
The online lecture was conducted by Valeriia Mykhailenko, a Protection Program Specialist of the International Humanitarian Organization FHI 360.
During the meeting, current issues related to various forms of gender-based violence, their causes, and consequences were discussed. Special attention was paid to the issues of psychological support for survivors and legal protection mechanisms. The speaker of the event shared information on existing state and public initiatives aimed at countering violence, and also emphasized the importance of forming a culture of respect and equality in society.
The specialist expressed hope that the information obtained would contribute to the formation of a tolerant and safe educational environment where the rights and dignity of every person are respected. Conducting such events is an important step towards overcoming gender inequality and building a society free from violence.
