On February 10, 2026, an extremely important and informative meeting was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies with the Inspector of the "Educational Security Service" sector of the Myrhorod District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Poltava Oblast, Police Lieutenant — Anna FESENKO.
Since the digital space is an integral part of the professional life of our student community, the main focus of the conversation was placed on real threats that await users online. Ms. Anna spoke in detail on the issues of financial security, revealing the most common fraud schemes in online banking and emphasizing the rules of safe payments, password protection, and two-factor authentication. Using examples from her experience, she explained how criminals use social engineering methods to gain access to accounts, and how vigilance can protect one's funds from cybercriminals.
A separate and highly sensitive topic of discussion was the issue of population recruitment through social networks and messengers. The inspector warned about the danger of involving youth in illegal activities and the use of manipulative technologies, urging students to be as critical as possible of offers from strangers online who may have hidden criminal intentions.
Students had the opportunity to ask questions about how to recognize a recruiter at the early stages and where to turn in case of detecting suspicious activity on the Internet. This meeting was not just a lecture, but a live dialogue that helped every participant better understand the limits of their personal responsibility for their own security and the security of their country.
We sincerely thank Anna Fesenko for her professional expertise and timely warnings, because in today's world, where digital and physical realities are intertwined, awareness is our most powerful defense.
