On September 17, 2024, Oksana Volodymyrivna Shevchyk, a leading librarian of the State Institution "LNU named after Taras Shevchenko", conducted a lecture on "Academic Integrity in the Educational Process" for higher education students of ERI MIT.
Academic integrity is not just a set of rules, but a fundamental principle on which not only the educational process but also the development of the scientific community and society as a whole is based.

The lecture was dedicated to a comprehensive analysis of the urgent problem of maintaining academic integrity in the modern educational space. During the lecture, the principles of academic integrity compliance among higher education students were reviewed in detail, particularly in the context of conducting scientific research. The main types of academic integrity violations were analyzed, and effective methods for their prevention were proposed. Special attention was paid to developing key student competencies such as critical thinking, the capacity for independent scientific research, a responsible attitude toward intellectual property, and the ability to properly cite sources.

Questions related to plagiarism detection tools sparked particular interest among the higher education students. The audience actively joined the discussion of the lecture topics and received comprehensive answers regarding the consequences of violating academic integrity rules and ways to prevent plagiarism while writing qualification theses, scientific articles, and conference abstracts.

We sincerely thank Oksana Volodymyrivna for an interesting and informative lecture!
